Day 1 : Floriade

Local departure and an afternoon crossing to Calais. Evening arrival at your hotel for a three-night stay.

Day 2 : Floriade

Your visit to Floriade is on day two, when you should prepare to be dazzled by the displays from the hundreds of exhibitors who have descended upon Greenport Venlo. Five themed zones spread over 66 hectares will showcase some of the world’s most stunning flowers, plants and trees as well as a huge variety of fruit and vegetables. Not only that, but Floriade 2012 offers a varied cultural programme of music, dance, theatre, literature and visual art from all over the globe.

Visitors will be able to experience nature using all their senses and will be able to learn about the contribution horticulture makes to everyday life in an active and enjoyable way.

The predominant feature of the Relax and Heal zone is organic shapes. There are no straight lines here, fluid paths and grassy hillocks help to create a harmonious landscape where you will feel tranquil and serene. Industrial designs, machines and motors have inspired the Green Engine zone, which also demonstrates the enormous resilience of nature. The Education and Innovation zone is designed so you are constantly presented with a different perspective, while greenery in cities and the creatures it attracts are highlighted in the Environment zone. And finally, visitors are able to meet and connect in the World Show Stage zone, where water plays a vital role - water being the shared source of all life on earth.

Day 3 : Amsterdam

This morning, your Tour Manager will show you the main sites of Amsterdam. In the afternoon, we continue to Amstelveen to visit a cheese and clog factory. A cheese tasting will als o be included.

Day 4 : Holland/UK

We return to Calais for a late afternoon crossing back to the UK. Return to your original departure point this evening.
