Experience nature's magnificent theatre and visit beautiful Bruges on our superb-value break to the sixth Floriade World Horticultural Expo. Staged only once every 10 years, the Floriade showcases the world's most exquisite flowers, plants, trees, fruits and vegetables, and hosts a cultural programme of music, dance, literature, theatre and visual art from all over the world.

Itinerary
Day One
Leaving the local area by coach this morning we'll travel to Dover/Folkestone for our ferry/Eurotunnel crossing to Calais. We'll arrive at your hotel by early evening, and you'll then be free to relax after checking in.
Day Two
After breakfast, it's time for the highlight of the break - our visit to Floriade 2012. Wander through the five themed zones and find out - through the senses of sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell – what influence horticulture has on the quality of our daily lives; marvel at the beauty, colour and variety of plants on display; and enjoy the wonderful programme of exhibitions, events and shows.
Sample some of the delicious local and international cuisine on offer before we return to the hotel.
Day Three
This morning, join our optional excursion to the exquisite Het Loo Palace, former royal residence of the family of the House of Orange. Discover its fascinating history as you wander through the sumptuous interior, and take a stroll through the delightful 17th-century gardens and fountains.
We'll continue to bustling Arnhem, where you'll have the opportunity to indulge in some shopping, visit the late Gothic basilica with its unique glasslift, or explore one of the town's many museums. We'll return to our hotel during the late afternoon where you can enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure.
Day Four
After breakfast, We leave the hotel and make our way to the 'Chocolate and Lace' city of Bruges. Explore the maze of winding cobbled streets, sample the famous Belgian chocolate and waffles, or perhaps take a relaxing canal cruise for a different perspective on the city.
After a short visit, we'll continue our journey to Calais for the return Channel crossing, arriving back in the local area by mid evening.

You will be staying in a good three-star hotel, located within a 90 minute coach drive of the Floriade exhibition in Venio. All hotels offer comfortable accommodation in rooms with private facilities.
