12-Day Break

Day 1 – Local departure by coach then onwards to northern France for an overnight stay.
Day 2 – Continue south to Lake Garda for a three-night stay. B,D
Day 3 – Lake Garda (included); Garda Cruise (optional). A full-day excursion along the shores of Lake Garda. We will stop at some of the picturesque villages on this shoreline, including Sirmione, from where you can take an optional cruise on the lake. B,D
Day 4 – Venice (optional). A maze of ornate bridges, weaving canals and elegant Byzantine and Renaissance architecture is waiting to be explored in this 118-island ‘carnival’ city. B,D
Day 5 – Siena (included). We leave Lake Garda and call in at Siena, Tuscany, a picturesque medieval town, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Piazza del Campo is one of the most famous squares in the world. B,D
Day 6 – Rome (included). The ‘eternal city’ evokes a unique, colourful atmosphere, built on its ancient Roman past. Our optional guided sightseeing tour by coach and on foot will introduce the city’s wonderful sights, including the Colosseum, Piazza Venezia and the Trevi Fountain.  B,D
Day 7 – Sorrento (optional) or Capri with Sightseeing (optional). We visit the popular Neapolitan resort town of Sorrento where you will have free time. Alternatively you can join our optional guided visit to the picturesque Isle of Capri where you will have time to explore its many sights and take in some fabulous scenic views. B,D
Day 8 – Florence (included); Guided Sightseeing (optional). The Renaissance city of Florence is rich in architectural splendour. See the Duomo and Ponte Vecchio (old bridge). B,D
Day 9 – Pisa (included); Guided Sightseeing (optional). We visit Pisa, famed for its Leaning Tower. B,D
Day 10 – Lake Maggiore and Borromean Islands (optional). We travel around the southern shores of Lake Maggiore to the lakeside town of Baveno, where we board a boat for the short transfer to the picturesque Borromean Islands. B,D
Day 11 – To the Paris outskirts for an overnight stay. B
Day 12 – To Calais then return home. B

Accommodation

You’ll stay for three nights at the 3-star Hotel Centrale in Torbole or similar on Lake Garda; three nights at a 3-star hotel in the spa-town of Fiuggi, south of Rome, overnight at a 3-star hotel in Montecatini, Tuscany; two nights at a 3-star hotel on Lake Maggiore.

Overnight stays in the northern France and Paris area will be in city-style hotels.
