6-Day Break

Day 1 – We travel to Holyhead, then by ferry to Ireland, and break up our journey with an overnight stay in Carlow. D
Day 2 – Cork and Blarney Castle (included). Ireland's third city, Cork is an important seaport and also home to numerous fine pubs! Our next stop is Blarney Castle and the famous 'Blarney Stone' (entrance extra), where tradition has it that kissing the stone will give the gift of flattery and successful lying! Continue to our hotel in Glengarriff for a three-night stay . B,D
Day 3 – Beara Peninsula (included). Breathtaking views await as we tour the bygone haunt of smugglers. On our return to Glengarriff, there's an optional boat trip to magnificent Garnish Island, Ireland's most outstanding garden island, with its famous collection of plants and Italian landscaping. B,D
Day 4 – Killarney and the Ring of Kerry (included). This part of mystical and unspoilt Ireland has attracted visitors for hundreds of years. We see dramatic scenery, picturesque villages and fishing towns of the Ring of Kerry. Killarney lets us absorb its cheerful atmosphere and infectious Kerry humour of the families who have run jaunting cars (pony and trap rides) for generations. B,D
Day 5 – Dublin Sightseeing Tour (optional). We travel to Dublin, which is steeped in history and culture through arts, theatre and folklore. There are many architectural features of interest around the city, from Georgian Dublin to the very modern spire on O'Connell Street. Continue to our overnight hotel on the outskirts of the city. B
Day 6 – We journey to Holyhead, then return home. B

Accommodation

You'll stay for three nights in Glengarriff at the 3-star Glengarriff Eccles Hotel, overlooking beautiful Bantry Bay and only a short walk to the village. The hotel has a restaurant, bar and lift. All bedrooms have a T.V., telephone, hairdryer and tea/coffee making tray.
Overnight stays in Carlow and Dublin are in 3-star hotels.
