6-Day Break - 2009 itinerary
Day 1 – Local departure then to Holyhead for the ferry to Ireland, and on to Enniscorthy for a 5-night stay. D
Day 2 – Wexford (included). We visit the old estuary town of Wexford, with its narrow winding streets, picturesque harbour and lively pubs. B,D
Day 3 – Wicklow Mountains (included). The spectacular sight of the Wicklow Mountains and the ‘Ballykissangel’ town of Avoca are great to photograph. We also spend time in beautiful Glendalough and the seaside resort of Bray. B,D
Day 4 – Kilkenny (included) then Brod Tulloroan Heritage Centre (optional). Kilkenny, Ireland’s medieval capital, is also one of it’s prettiest. Our optional tour to Brod Tulloroan features the museum which chronicles the history of hurling – the fastest field game on earth. Enjoy this living part of Irish cultural history and a hurling demonstration. B,D
Day 5 – Waterford (optional). Beautiful Waterford is famous for its crystal, and the factory is a must-see. The city lays claim to being Ireland’s oldest, with viking origins, and the many landmarks include Reginald’s Tower, St Patrick’s Church and the City Hall. B,D
Day 6 – An early start this morning as we head to Holyhead. We continue our journey home. B
Accommodation
You’ll stay for five nights at the 3-star Riverside Park Hotel and Leisure Club at Enniscorthy. The hotel has a lift and the Promenade Bar overlooks the River Slaney. There are two restaurants – the elegant, intimate ‘Moorings’ and the lively ‘Alamo’ Tex-Mex. All bedrooms have hairdryer, trouser press, tea/coffee-making facilities, T.V. and telephone. Guests also have complimentary use of the Riverside Leisure Club, which has a swimming pool, sauna, Jacuzzi and steam room.
