4-Day Break
Day 1 – Local departure by coach, then to Ostend for a three-night stay. D
Day 2 – Bruges (included); Sluis (optional). Bruges is Europe’s best-preserved medieval city, and can be explored on foot, with its canals, meandering cobbled lanes and hidden medieval almshouses. From Bruges you have the opportunity to join an afternoon excursion to the fortified town of Sluis, in the rural province of Zeeland, Holland. Discover the rich architecture, elegant shops and cultural heritage and climb Holland’s only bell tower for a spectacular view of the picturesque surrounding countryside. B,D
Day 3 – Ostend (included); Ypres (optional). Spend a morning at leisure in Ostend. Take a stroll along the promenade, where you can admire the Royal monuments. This afternoon, we head to the town of Ypres. See the market square, overlooked by the dominating reconstructed medieval Cloth Hall with its impressive 70-metre-high belfry, or perhaps visit the most important war memorial in Ypres, the Menin Gate. B,D
Day 4 – To Calais then return home. B

Day 4 – Ghent (included). Enjoy a morning excursion to Ghent. Affectionately known as the ‘flower capital of Belgium’, this wonderful medieval cobbled Flemish town, with its canals, has a wealth of stunning architecture, including the three impressive towers of St. Nicholas Church, the Belfry and the magnificent St. Baaf ’s Cathedral. We return to Ostend where you can enjoy a leisurely final afternoon. B,D
Day 5 – To Calais then return home. B

Accommodation
You’ll stay for three or four nights at the 3-star Hotel Melinda located within walking distance of the town centre, harbour and the beach in Ostend. The hotel offers a restaurant and a lounge bar, plus a lift. All bedrooms have T.V. and telephone. Two glasses of wine, beer or soft drinks are included with dinner each evening.
